Scrappy Canary Cyber Crop

Last weekend the Scrappy Canary had a Cyber Crop and I thought it was time to blow some dust off my supplies, print some of the many photos I have taken this year and get crafty.  So here are my submissions.

Challenge 1 was a black and white challenge.  I really didn't think I was going to do this one as I never really use this colour combination, although I remembered that I had the perfect photo I took in June at our beach holiday.  My husband and I vowed to go to the beach every year for at least a week, we usually go to Currumbin at the Gold Coast.  It is so pretty there.  Xavier loves the beach and never wants to come home.

Challenge 2 was a Tic Tac Toe challenge.  You had to choose three elements on the game board as long as they were in a line.  I chose Arrows, Dark Background and Journal Card.  My journal card is hidden on the side (it was a tag) so I hope that this is still OK!  These photos were taken in the beginning of March when I had a call to pick up Xavier from daycare with temps and vomiting.  This was the sickest he has ever been, we couldn't get this temp below 39 degrees for a week, most of the time it was above 40 degrees.  He even started to hallucinate, which the hospital said was normal.  We had a couple of Emergency Room visits this week, as we just didn't know what to do!

Challenge 3 was to use the Pastel colours as well as gold.  I didn't know how I would go with this, although ended up having fun.  I did spill ink or something on the layout though so the sequins were a last minute add.....and I'm not too sure of them, but oh well.  This photo was a selfie of us from the beach in January, we decided to go down for a day when we were on annual leave together.  We hit up Surfers Paradise for some beach fun as well as lots of shopping!!  A trip to the Coast isn't a success until I have had my fill of shopping......much to the boys disapproval!

Challenge 4 was to scraplift one of the Scappy Canary girls.  I am loving Bernii Miller's work at the moment.  It is just gorgeous.  So I have channeled my inner Bernii and used lots of layers and colour for this layout.  Sometimes I drop the car at home and walk up to daycare to pick up Xavier (although NOT in magpie season ha ha ha) and I suprise him by taking his bike up to ride back.  He loves to ride his bike home, and its great that we live only about a 5 minute walk from daycare!

Challenge 5 was a sketch challenge.  I always start out with the sketch in front of me and then my finished layout never looks anything like the sketch!  ha ha ha  So if you turn your head, squint and use your imagination.....I'm sure you can see a little of the sketch in the layout.  This photo was another one taken on our trip in June to the Gold Coast.  Unfortunately the only way I usually get into a photo is if we take a selfie.....so I always come home with a lot of selfies!  ha ha ha

Challenge 6 was to create your own background for your photo. I have used gesso and acetate hearts to create a patch for my photo.  I loved this one and found it very therapeutic.  It is just a photo of my son that we took at the park.  Its not a wonderful photo but it is just him and I love that boy to bits. This year I have realised that it is the little things that are the things that matter and just to cherish every moment every day!  Xavier loves being outdoors so we try to go to the park every weekend.

I want to apologise for the quality of my photos - I have not cropped them or anything.  I just took them on my bed right now.  ha ha ha  I am supposed to be studying for my uni exam tomorrow and writing a 5 week HPE lesson block that is due tomorrow......but of course I am procrastinating!  Thank you to the wonderful ladies at the Scrappy Canary, I had a blast getting creative again!

Next on my list is to start making all the Christmas Presents as we are having a handmade Christmas this year in our family!!  Well that and start to count down for our cruise to Vanuatu in December!!  Can't wait for that!!  My December Daily is going to be awesome this year!!!

Thanks for looking!!

I'm actually getting my craft on!

Well over the Easter long weekend I thought I would play along with the Cyber Crop over at Scrapbooking from Scratch.  They are setting 3 challenges a day for the 4 days.  I have decided to scrap mostly wedding photos as I would love to get this album completed!  Today I managed to procrastinate all my uni work and complete the 3 challenges set (plus the bonus one).  We are going away to the Coast next weekend so I really do need to find some time to study this weekend.  Might have to listen to some lectures before bed tonight!  Here are my creations.

This was for the bonus challenge.  You just needed to scrap a page with the quote "Be Yourself....everyone else is taken".  I just used scraps of paper (I actually got them out of the bin that's in my scrap room) and lots of buttons.  And you still cant tell that I have used any of the buttons.  I have way too many!!  My inspiration behind this page was from the Video that Paige Evans put on her blog.  I seriously LOVE her work!!

This was the colour challenge.  The colour combination was Green, Pink and Red.  I used lots of my old Kaisercraft 6x6 paper pads and more of my buttons.  I also used a cut from my Cameo to mist the 'You are my sunshine' onto the paper.  I love this picture of X......he is ALWAYS pulling the things out of the kitchen cupboard....it drives us crazy.  Really hope he grows out of this soon.

This was a sketch challenge.  I left this one pretty plan and didn't really add all that many embellishments   I have used mostly Dear Lizzy papers and just one Cosmo Cricket one.  I really do love the pictures of my nieces on my wedding day. They looked gorgeous!

This was the quote challenge.  We needed to use the quote "Life is Good".  I cut it out on my cameo.  Didn't really add much to this either.....think with the misted background.  I do have to say though that Life is definitely good with these two boys in my life!

Thanks for looking at my latest creations.  I hope that you have a wonderful Easter and that you get some craft time as well.

I love reading blogs and this is how I spend most of my down time after work each night (when X has gone to bed of course). And I have many blogs that I just adore and check almost daily to see if a new post is up.  While browsing one of my favs the other day Our Girly World, I stumbled across a sketch challenge!!  I thought it looked fun and that I would give it a go.  It was fun to scrap a wedding picture!

I know it doesnt look that much like the sketch......I love doing sketch challenges but then question after I have made the page how much it is similar!  ha ha ha  Thanks for the wonderful challenge.....and thanks for motivating me to scrap a wedding picture!!  :)

Sorry the picture is crooked - I took it on my phone!!

I have been busy.....

.......doing this:

It turns out, Weddings are extremely time consuming (and especially when you have as much bad luck as we did......the worst luck pre wedding lead up means the best luck in a marriage right??) and take up every single waking moment!  We got married on October 13th and it was a perfect day.  I am IN LOVE with my professional photos, and cant wait to scrap them.

I have slowly started to create some more scrapbook pages, so I will share them next time!

In other news.....I am going to be studying next year!!  Working full time, being a mum AND studying....I think I have gone mad!!  Hopefully it all works out!

Our local Show

Today was our local show!! We took X and went with some friends!! We had a great day!! They have a little boy A who is only 3 weeks younger than X so we get together regularly for playdates! The boys loved the farm animals in the petting zoo and all the excitement of Sideshow Alley! It was so nice to go to the show with kids - even though they are only 8 months old!! It will be crazy next year, when they can actually ask for things!

Here are some photos that I took to remember the day!!

They had all these cool dinosaurs that X just couldn't take his eyes off!!

Loving all the farm animals. He wasn't scared AT ALL! Just wanted to touch and pat everything!

Loved sitting on the display tractor! Maybe he will be a farmer when he grows up?? ha ha ha

He loved the little tractors too.....although not as much as the big one!! :)

His first go of putting the balls in (this case) the duck!! He needed a lot of help from his dad, as he just wanted to eat the balls!

Playing with his prize. I love this picture of my two boys at the show!! Love them to bits!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Daring you to Scrap Entry

Well I have completed another challenge!! YAY!! This one was for Daring You to Scrap. This was lots of fun and I really enjoyed making this page (notice a theme here....photo strip photos, misting and lots of photos of X are a few of my favourite things at the moment).

The criteria this month was to use 'old school photos' such as Photo Strips or Polaroids! I am loving photo strips at the moment as I am getting to use all the 'out take' photos of X. In these photos we had a mini photo shoot in the back yard to show off his first mohawk!! I just think it was one of the cutest things ever!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
This page was actually created using one of the AWESOME kits from Polly Scrap Kits. Love the kits there!! :)

This page also featured a super cute robot button from KittyRobot!! Love it!!
