Challenge 1 was a black and white challenge. I really didn't think I was going to do this one as I never really use this colour combination, although I remembered that I had the perfect photo I took in June at our beach holiday. My husband and I vowed to go to the beach every year for at least a week, we usually go to Currumbin at the Gold Coast. It is so pretty there. Xavier loves the beach and never wants to come home.
Challenge 3 was to use the Pastel colours as well as gold. I didn't know how I would go with this, although ended up having fun. I did spill ink or something on the layout though so the sequins were a last minute add.....and I'm not too sure of them, but oh well. This photo was a selfie of us from the beach in January, we decided to go down for a day when we were on annual leave together. We hit up Surfers Paradise for some beach fun as well as lots of shopping!! A trip to the Coast isn't a success until I have had my fill of shopping......much to the boys disapproval!
Challenge 4 was to scraplift one of the Scappy Canary girls. I am loving Bernii Miller's work at the moment. It is just gorgeous. So I have channeled my inner Bernii and used lots of layers and colour for this layout. Sometimes I drop the car at home and walk up to daycare to pick up Xavier (although NOT in magpie season ha ha ha) and I suprise him by taking his bike up to ride back. He loves to ride his bike home, and its great that we live only about a 5 minute walk from daycare!
Challenge 5 was a sketch challenge. I always start out with the sketch in front of me and then my finished layout never looks anything like the sketch! ha ha ha So if you turn your head, squint and use your imagination.....I'm sure you can see a little of the sketch in the layout. This photo was another one taken on our trip in June to the Gold Coast. Unfortunately the only way I usually get into a photo is if we take a selfie.....so I always come home with a lot of selfies! ha ha ha
Challenge 6 was to create your own background for your photo. I have used gesso and acetate hearts to create a patch for my photo. I loved this one and found it very therapeutic. It is just a photo of my son that we took at the park. Its not a wonderful photo but it is just him and I love that boy to bits. This year I have realised that it is the little things that are the things that matter and just to cherish every moment every day! Xavier loves being outdoors so we try to go to the park every weekend.
I want to apologise for the quality of my photos - I have not cropped them or anything. I just took them on my bed right now. ha ha ha I am supposed to be studying for my uni exam tomorrow and writing a 5 week HPE lesson block that is due tomorrow......but of course I am procrastinating! Thank you to the wonderful ladies at the Scrappy Canary, I had a blast getting creative again!
Next on my list is to start making all the Christmas Presents as we are having a handmade Christmas this year in our family!! Well that and start to count down for our cruise to Vanuatu in December!! Can't wait for that!! My December Daily is going to be awesome this year!!!
Thanks for looking!!
